Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole with layers of potatoes, ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, and melted cheddar.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or other seasonings

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a casserole dish.
  2. Cook Beef: In a skillet, brown ground beef with chopped onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer Potatoes: Place sliced potatoes in an even layer in the casserole dish.
  4. Add Beef: Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Mix Sauce: In a bowl, stir together cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour evenly over the beef and potatoes.
  6. Top With Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole.
  7. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Serve: Let rest for a few minutes before serving hot.
