- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Optional: garlic powder or other seasonings
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a casserole dish.
- Cook Beef: In a skillet, brown ground beef with chopped onions. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer Potatoes: Place sliced potatoes in an even layer in the casserole dish.
- Add Beef: Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.
- Mix Sauce: In a bowl, stir together cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour evenly over the beef and potatoes.
- Top With Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Serve: Let rest for a few minutes before serving hot.
